About the Catholic Church of St. Moses the Black

The Catholic Church of St. Moses the Black is a Spirit-filled parish that responds to the Lord’s call to love one’s neighbor.

Our parish’s goal is to impact Detroit and its neighboring communities by serving others, promoting Gospel values, and making Christ’s love known to all. Saint Moses the Black parish has a rich history of community development and close ties with non-profit organizations like Focus: HOPE, St. Vincent de Paul, and BetterWayDetroit.

We renew ourselves in Jesus Christ when we gather together each Sunday as a Catholic community. “So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.’” (John 6: 53-54)

The Eucharist renews us in a life-giving way, so please join us for Holy Mass!
